No Easy Decade for the Long War Vets: California Book Tour

AFGHANISTAN VETERAN BEGINS CALIFORNIA BOOK TOUR
LOS ANGELES, CA Joshua Welle, takes you to Annapolis, the Middle East and
back with In the Shadow of Greatness: Voices of Leadership, Sacrifice and Service
from America’s Longest War, a collection of personal and revealing first person
accounts by Naval and Marine officers who have served since 9/11. Welle and other
co-authors will be on a California book tour from October 2-11th.

"This book goes beyond the Naval Academy,” said Welle, the lead editor, "This is
about what it means to be a military officer after 9/11. This is a leadership book. " The
new compilation is the complement to the much heralded No Easy Day; In the
Shadow of Greatnees is about “no easy decade”—young leaders in the crucible of
battle for ten years. The Chief of Naval Operations recently declared In the Shadow
of Greatness part of his leadership reading list series for 2013.

Marine’s Memorial Club, 609 Sutter Street, San Francisco on Oct. 11th at 6:30 p.m.

All profits from the book go to veterans’ nonprofits. The Warwick’s event will benefit
Challenged Athletes Foundations (CAF) Operation Rebound, a San Diego-based
non-profit, which provides athletic training, equipment and funding to wounded
veterans.
